Ants usually don't bother my fabrics ... when they come in around the kitchen door seeking water, I pour a line of ground black pepper along the threshold and they stay away.Cliohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05552253628640209694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2132533809320962451.post-81255582603030648492014-06-23T15:48:51.056-04:002014-06-23T15:48:51.056-04:00He actually was able to find a little space in the...He actually was able to find a little space in the closet. So, my scrap bin is in order too.Cliohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05552253628640209694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2132533809320962451.post-92062669456973525342014-06-20T08:58:22.048-04:002014-06-20T08:58:22.048-04:00I'm not much of a stasher. I do seem to sit on a big pile of leftovers that I don't want to toss in case I can use them for my sewing classes or with my kid. Every now and then I cull it out and giveaway a bag on freecycle.Cliohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05552253628640209694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2132533809320962451.post-41074736467149803522014-06-19T23:25:41.442-04:002014-06-19T23:25:41.442-04:00Sewing from stash is rewarding - especially when y...Sewing from stash is rewarding - especially when you rediscover a fabric that you had perhaps overlooked. Yeah, I have a few "for others" projects and, even though they are for loved ones, I kind of want to get through them asap so I can get back to projects for me.Cliohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05552253628640209694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2132533809320962451.post-78250679967843629672014-06-19T23:23:41.412-04:002014-06-19T23:23:41.412-04:00That's discipline! So as long as it fits where it should, I have no issues with my normal stashing habits. This last bout was a bit unusual for me. And it was really overwhelming - paralyzing - to have piles of fabric in my work area. I guess I am a neater person than I knew.Cliohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05552253628640209694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2132533809320962451.post-71510526639527422722014-06-19T22:44:02.290-04:002014-06-19T22:44:02.290-04:00I blame Devra for the lining. ;-)I blame Devra for the lining. ;-)Cliohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05552253628640209694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2132533809320962451.post-85229367703844016522014-06-19T22:20:41.731-04:002014-06-19T22:20:41.731-04:00Oh, and your ice cream looks yummy too!Oh, and your ice cream looks yummy too!Cliohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05552253628640209694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2132533809320962451.post-80651455519116818912014-06-19T22:19:37.425-04:002014-06-19T22:19:37.425-04:00Your fabrics are yummy! I've noticed that when I can't see my stash fabric I tend to buy more than I need, for similar projects! And when I do see my stash my sewing is more impulsive, fun, and creatively rewarding. Unfortunately, sewing for other people means my stash has been buried under all the fabric for them... So I am having a total storage space issue right now too. I am itching to get back to my own projects so bad, but it will have to wait for another few months...Cliohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05552253628640209694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2132533809320962451.post-47755053276866310732014-06-19T22:19:09.562-04:002014-06-19T22:19:09.562-04:00I love your new fabrics! I mean, it's not airy, but it's not a horror. That's a good yardage to allow me to do all kinds of diff things, for diff seasons, on a whim. I buy, if I am compelled, as long as I can fit my fabric into that closet. When I can't, I just say no.Cliohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05552253628640209694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2132533809320962451.post-22408829014132125612014-06-19T18:48:35.599-04:002014-06-19T18:48:35.599-04:00I love that boucle, but aren't you supposed to...I love that boucle, but aren't you supposed to pick your lining AFTER your fashion fabric? I took four of those giant reusable tj maxx bags and sorted by season, only putting in fabrics that also had a pattern paired up with them and any notions. Then, whenever I visited my parents I would swap out a bag, keeping the other three bags there.

I think I need to bring rotation back into my own sewing space, I'm getting overwhelmed by my stash to the point where I just shut the door and leave instead of wanting to start a project.
Have you ever approximated how many yards total of fabric you have? I counted once and it was embarrassing.Cliohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05552253628640209694noreply@blogger.com
